Up to €5k will be made available for affected businesses.

Businesses in Kildare, Offaly and Laois will receive new supports from the government later.

The three counties, which are currently on lockdown, will be the focus of a financial package to be announced by the Tanaiste and the Public Expenditure Minister this afternoon.

Up to 5 thousand euro will be available for businesses, while provisions are expected for the hospitality sector.

Sales Director of Kilcullen-based Carve On Leather, Robert Kennedy, outlines what issue the government needs to address today.

''Cash flow is so impacted by the lack of orders, it's very difficult for people to even fathom paying tax bills or rates because your focused on wages'', he said.

''So the biggest impact on any business operating at the level we're at is cash flow.

''Some sort of stimulus to keep cash flowing through business is going to be a key factor.''
