''Your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother''.
A little boy who saved his sister from an attacking dog has been hailed a hero.
Six-year-old Bridger Walker from Wyoming has received dozens of stitches after he was mauled by dog that was charging at his younger sibling.
The boy's aunt Nikki Walker, shared details of the attack on Instagram.
On July 9th, she wrote that Bridger saw the dog approach his sister and deliberately stood in front of her. The dog attacked Bridger instead, biting the side of the boy’s face and head, the aunt said.
"My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn't get his sister," the Instagram caption read.
Then after being bitten, he then grabbed his sister's hand and ran with her "to keep her safe."
When asked why he stepped in front of the dog, Bridger said: "If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me."
"We love our brave boy," she wrote. The post has received over 1,170,000 likes at the time of writing.
Hollywood actors such as Chris Evans, Anne Hathaway have also paid tribute to the boy.
