It happened in the reservoir at Bohernabreena.
A 13 year old boy has drowned in a tragic accident in Dublin.
He was swimming in the reservoir at Bohernabreena when he got into difficulty and failed to resurface.
Emergency assistance was called and the boy was found a short time later.
He was taken to Crumlin Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A Garda spokesman confirmed the death.
He said: "We are investigating the death of a male youth, 13 years, that occurred following a drowning incident at a reservoir in the Bohernabreena area of Co. Dublin on 09/08/2020.
