283 thousand people on PUP are set to receive the bonus.
1.6 million people receive their Christmas Bonus this week, as the Department of Social Protection begin paying a total of 390 million euro to pensioners, people with disabilities, carers and lone parents from today.
One of the first groups to receive the bonus are the 283 thousand people on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment, with the total amount paid to PUP recipients today is €83.14 million.
The largest group in that bracket aged between 25 and 34.
92,266 recipients live in Dublin, followed by Cork (27,857), Galway (15,824), Kildare (12,226) and Kerry (11,377).
