A Irish surfer has gone viral on social media after footage of him riding a wave up to '60-feet' (18-metres) was captured In Mullaghmore, Sligo.
The clip shows elite surfer Conor Maguire surfing the insane swells, caused by the remnants of Hurricane Epsilon, as he is accompanied by a safety team and a Red Bull film crew.
In a separate clip to the one below, Red Bull Surfing wrote on Facebook: ''It’s not often you get to take on waves hitting 60 FEET off Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way! Our elite athlete Conor Maguire did just that at Mullaghmore today''.
Speaking to RTÉ News Conor who, hails from Bundoran in Co. Donegal, said he simply had to take the chance of surfing the rough seas saying: "there are only a handful of days like this one in your whole life".
Meteorologist Gerry Murphy explained to RTÉ News that a low pressure system caused "a significant sea swell" and "very high waves moving in close to the Irish coastline" from the south to the north, all along the western coast.
