From June 29th, travel is permitted anywhere in Ireland.
The Aran Islands off the coast of Galway could reopen on a phased basis, rather than on Monday, as permitted under the latest easing of lockdown restrictions.
From the 29th of June, travel is permitted anywhere in the country, including offshore islands.
However, there has been some concern from local communities that a large number of visitors could lead to Coronavirus outbreaks on the country's islands.
Minister of State for the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Sean Kyne says the Aran islands may open at a slower pace than elsewhere:
"I've myself recommended to Roinn na Gaeltachta .. that there be a sort of phased reopening if you like," he explained.
"That they prioritise those with island connections or those who have a residence on the island - a holiday home or whatever - and that they get preference initially and that there'll be a full reopening then on the 20th of July".
