A nursing home in Co. Laois is currently dealing with 31 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

In a statement released this afternoon, Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home the first of these cases were confirmed towards the end of last week. The Portlaoise facility says since this, 21 of its residents have tested positive for Coronavirus. All of these people are now isolating in their rooms.
The nursing home has a maximum occupancy of 52 residents.
All families have been contacted over the past 24 hours and have been given status updates on the health, welfare and care of their relative.
Meanwhile, ten members of its staff members have also tested positive.
Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home says it remains fully operational but is closed to visitor and non-essential visitors in line with Level 3 government restrictions.
