Is Mullingar the Nashville of Ireland ?
There seems to be a never-ending supply of musical talent emerging from the hometown of Joe Dolan!
With Niall Horan touring the world with One Direction and lately as a solo artist. Niall Breslin (Bressie) lead singer of The Blizzards and former judge on The Voice of Ireland. And of course The Academic who supported The Rolling Stones in Croke Park last Summer. What is in the water in the Westmeath town?!
Now a former classmate of Niall Horan is making waves in the music industry.
Flynn is the latest sensation to emerge from the musical mecca of Mullingar.
Accompanied by Brian Masterson (Drums) and Keelan McLoughlin (Guitar / Keys), Darren Flynn is following in the footsteps of fellow Colaiste Mhuire students Niall Horan and Bressie. Having already racked up over 4 million streams on Spotify in just one year, his latest single "My Gold" has already passed the 1 million mark after just 10 weeks !
The Mullingar man has been amassing his following having preformed at several big festivals last summer including Forbidden Fruits and Indiependence. Over the Christmas holidays he supported The Blizzards in The Fence in Mullingar. The following night he kicked off a secret gig in the same venue ahead of The Academic !
Then just this week Flynn supported Years And Years for two sold out nights in the Olympia Theatre. 2019 is already looking bright for singer songwriter.
So I played to a sold out crowd at the @olympiatheatre last night! A massive thank you to @yearsandyears for having me and to everyone that showed me love! I’ll see you all out there again tonight for round 2 ❤️ pic.twitter.com/H3dVynXwPY
