The Lilywhites aren't backing down.

Kildare and the GAA remain locked in a standoff over the venue for this Saturday's All-Ireland senior football qualifier against Mayo.

Cian O'Neill's side is insisting that the game be played at St Conleth's Park in Newbridge, after they were drawn as the 'home' team for the Round 3 fixture.

However, the GAA stepped in and moved it to Croke Park as part of a double-header with Cavan versus Tyrone.

The Central Competitions Control Committee said St Conleth's Park does not meet health and safety standards for such a big tie.

O'Neill announced it was 'Newbridge or nowhere' for his team, which has sparked a hashtag, with high profile names including Christy Moore, Kevin Kilbane, Des Cahill and Aussie Gleeson supporting Kildare.

But the GAA said if the Lilywhites refuse to show up at Croker on Saturday, Mayo will get a walk-over win.

O'Neill isn't giving in and has maintained his team will be at St Conleth's that evening, whether Mayo are there or not.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports said it will show the game, regardless of the venue.

The Gaelic Players Association has called on the GAA to host the match in Newbridge.

It said the current situation is unacceptable and is putting an enormous strain on players.
