Liam Gallagher's solo album goes straight to number one

Liam Gallagher's first solo album, As You Were, has topped the charts here and in the UK.

The former Oasis star's taken to social media to say "I want to thank everyone who bought it. I want to thank everyone who helped make it."

The 45 year old hasn't had a number one album since his time with Oasis. His subsequent band Beady Eye never managed to top the charts.
