In case you haven't heard, things aren't going so well in America at the moment.

There is a partial government shutdown going on because of a row over funding for President Donald Trump's controversial border wall.

This means approximately 800,000 people employed by the government are not being paid and it's not clear when the situation is going to be resolved.

Enter Cardi B - the rapper is not impressed with the whole carry on and earlier this week she had her say on it.

Cardi B reminded her followers that so many people are being affected by the shutdown and she called for action to be taken.

However many people were not impressed with her input, with some replying to her post saying she has an "annoying" voice or claiming she could "leave the country" on a "private jet" if she wanted to.

Now Cardi B has hit back at the idea that she should not be talking about politics, posting another video on Instagram of a US senator reacting to her remarks.

Whether or not you take the music star seriously, at least she is using her platform to highlight what is a massively serious situation and trying to engage people who might otherwise ignore what's going on!
