Confidential support available for people who take drugs at Electric Picnic

"There's no such thing as a drug-free festival."

Festival-goers at Electric Picnic are being urged not to avoid seeking help while on drugs over fears they could get into trouble with the law.

Confidential drug outreach services will be provided at the festival in Co Laois this weekend.

Volunteers from the Ana Liffey Drug Project, including professional medical staff, will be in the Welfare Tent and multiple campsites to assist those who take drugs.

CEO of the Ana Liffey Drug Project, Tony Duffin, said that while the best advice is not to take illegal drugs, it's important for everyone to work together to reduce the potential for harm.

The Hub's Dave Duke caught up with Tony to find out more about the support available at EP, and to ask about the addiction service's 'Low Threshold - Harm Reduction' ethos:
