Because what else do we have to be doing...?
With travel restrictions we probably are watching the box way more than usual but this extra time at home is the perfect excuse to treat your pet to a movie bonanza!
Equipet, one of Ireland's leading Pet Stores, has put together a Top 5 of great movies to watch with your pet!
Here is the list of five titles that you and your pet NEED to see!
No. 5: King Kong (2005)
Featuring a stellar cast, half-decent CGI and a plot so contrived that you’ll wonder if Jack Black’s character actually wrote the actual script; King Kong has everything, but the reason it appears on this list is for Kong himself.
While Kong: Skull Island was a far grittier retelling of the same story, Kong (2005) leaves a lot of heart and personality in the King, conveyed greatly by the amazing CGI that went into him.
Overall, it’s a super movie to stick on to show your pet how love knows no bounds (in a roundabout way), just like their love for you!
No. 4: Madagascar
The first animated movie on our list and arguably one of the most nuanced and genuinely hilarious of the lot; Madagascar was a true gem when it first hit Irish screens way-back in 2005.
The story is relatively simple: A lion, a zebra, a giraffe, a hippo and a squad of tactical penguins escape from New York’s Zoo to try to return to the wild.
Of course, they make it to the eponymous island where things take a turn for the hilarious and their bonds of friendship are tested to their limits.
Watch out for those tactical penguins because they easily steal the entire movie with their charming antics and one-liners!
No. 3: Avatar
Before Avant-Garde Playgame (or whatever the kids call it), Avatar was the original big-bucks big-boy on the block earning well over 2 billion dollars in the last ten years or so.
I’d need to write a thesis to explain its plot, but if you haven’t watched this movie, you need to watch this movie now.
James Cameron spared no expense on any part and it really shows, especially during the flight sequences. You and your pet will be blown away by this movie.
No. 2: Finding Nemo
The second animated feature on our list, Finding Nemo was an instant classic the moment it came out.
I won’t spoil anything, but Finding Nemo has a lot of heart, a lot of great voice acting and a genuinely funny script that pokes harmless fun at every aspect of Marine and Aquatic life.
Any fish owner is stark-raving mad to have not seen this movie and it’s a great movie for little ones too (and little fishies as well!)
No. 1: The Lion K…
Got’cha.
The Actual No. 1: Spirited Away
Spirited Away is widely regarded as the finest animated movie ever produced and one of the finest to come from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki (of legendary Studio Ghibli fame).
Again, it would be a crime to give anything away, but I can tell you that there will be tears shed by adults and kids alike.
Spirited Away is a true classic and is suitable for all ages, breeds, shapes and sizes!
