How to nail the perfect online interview.

Even though the country is gripped by the COVID-19 restrictions, it’s business as usual in many sectors especially healthcare.

Nua Healthcare is one of Ireland’s leading Care Providers providing Residential, Supported Living, Day and Community Outreach Services to both Children and Adults.

They are currently recruiting for lots of different positions. These may appeal to those with experience in the healthcare sector or offer a change of career to those from different backgrounds that may recently have been laid off from e.g. a retail position.

Due to social distance restrictions, Nua is running interviews on the phone and via Skype.

This form of an interview could be very new to a lot of potential applicants.

Because of this Nua has given us a handy guide to prepping for your interview below.

These advice steps below apply to any job.

Time: Ensure you know the correct time of the interview and be ready a few minutes ahead

Connection: So there are no communication breakdowns mid-interview, ensure you have a good internet connection. If you are not familiar with Skype run a few practice calls to friends and family first. If the interview is by phone, ensure you are in an area of good coverage.

Quiet: Make sure you are in quiet place when doing your interview with no disruptions.

Research: Do your research on the company and on the role that you are applying for. Show you have knowledge about a company, this will be noticed by interviewers as to how well you have prepared for the call.

Rehearse: Do dummy runs of the interview with your family or friends; be sure to get key points across about relevant experience, qualifications, and your desire to do the job.

Inquire: Never be afraid to ask a question or to request your recruiter repeat a question if you have had trouble hearing it.

Revert: If you can’t answer a question or get stuck during the interview - don’t worry – this happens with nerves - ask your recruiter if you can come back to it at a later point in the interview.
