Most of us love a good Disney movie and they don't get more classic than the Lion King.
The film such a big part of our growing up, bringing us the highs...
...the lows...
and the tunes which would define our childhoods.
Now, 22 years after the film's release (Yes, TWENTY-TWO years) our favourite wildlife animation is getting a makeover.
The project will be directed by Jon Favreau, the man behind this year's remake of the Jungle Book and will be produced in a similar "live action" style.
The news was officially confirmed by Disney in a statement on its website, which said the project is being "fast tracked to production".
Favreau, who also directed Iron Man and Iron Man 2, tweeted earlier today to say how excited he was about the project.
Excited for my next project

And before you ask, yes, the remake will have the songs from the 1994 original, which has earned over €850 million.
Let's just hope it can live up to the original!
