A remake of the classic nineties comedy is in early development but most of the details are being kept under wraps for now.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Paramount Studios is hiring Marquita Robinson, who works on the Netflix series GLOW, to write the script, while Girls' Trip writer Tracy Oliver is coming on board as a producer.
We don't yet know who'll be cast in the project - the original film starred Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd and the late Brittany Murphy.
The 1995 film, which was inspired by the classic Jane Austen novel Emma, was a hit at the box office and inspired a TV spinoff.
Its popularity hasn't waned over the last 23 years, with an off-Broadway adaptation set to start next month.
