An inspirational teenage boy with Down Syndrome made an incredible basketball trick shot in front of his classmates and none other than a member of the Harlem Globetrotters.

James Meiergerd executed a backward half-court basket for the second time after his first success went viral and Globetrotter Orlando Melendez came to the 18-year-old's school in Nebraska to witness it for himself.

Around 800 students gathered in the school's gym to listen to a talk from Melendez where he said that James "is the best example in showing that no matter what, you can do what you want to do if you put your heart and devotion into it."

James then lined himself up on the court to make the basket for the second time and after a few failed attempts, his fellow students cheered him on and he prevailed.

The crowd erupted and 6 ft 8 Melendez is heard saying: "This is why I love being a Harlem Globetrotter - to experience these things."

We're not crying... We just have something in our eye!
