Love Island contestants will now have to hand over social media passwords

Would you give them your social media passwords?

As another season of Love Island is upon us, there will be some new twists in the plot line.

As part of a new screening process, applicants will reportedly be required to hand over their social media passwords to the screening team.

Apparently this is uncover the use of any hate speech, violent images, toxic language and adult images.

Speaking to The Sun , a source explained:

“They’ve been left embarrassed in the past so this new check will flag up any issues and ensure they don’t put any wrong’uns on national TV.”

This is is following former contestant Danny Biddy was found using a racial slur in an Instagram comment.

He then apologised saying:

“I’d like to take the time to apologise to anyone that may have taken offence to my inappropriate remark.

”I never meant anything malicious by this comment at all. I am not a racist person and it’s unacceptable language and ignorant.”

Love Island announced recently that they are accepting applications from people who are in relationships.

According to the application form it says:

“Please describe your current relationship situation.”
