There was serious excitement last year when FOX announced that Prison Break was returning after 7 years! But we had questions. Where would the storyline go? What about Michael Scofield's character? Would the original cast even be involved!? Well now we have answers.
FOX has announced that Prison Break will be returning for a limited series with lead star Wentworth Miller reprising his role as Michael Scofield. Fox's CEO Gary Newman also confirmed that Dominic Purcell would also be returning to his role as brother Lincoln Burrows in the drama. Yes - BOTH brothers are returning!
"I would describe it as a bit of a sequel. It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show," said co-chairman Dana Walden. "The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back." Despite the fact that Michael died at the end of the series, the plot will give a "logical and believable" explanation for how the characters survived and are "still moving around the world".
It has also been confirmed that stars Sarah Wayne Callies and Robert Knepper are in talks to return for the reboot as Sara Tancredi and T-Bag respectively. The new series is being written by original creator Paul Scheuring at the moment, and will be on our screens in late 2016/early 2017. We cannot wait!
