The Sunday Independent has today published its annual rich list and once again it is topped by the Mistry family, on €16.1 billion.
Pallonji Mistry is an 89-year-old Indian tycoon with an Irish passport, married to the Dublin-born Patsy Perin Dubash, and has a number of lucrative holdings in India's biggest conglomerate.
The top ten also features the likes of media mogul Denis O'Brien, horse-racing magnate JP McManus and brothers Patrick and John Collison who founded the online payments company Strype.
Some of the more well-known names on the list include Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary who is 19th on the list with €925,000,000, just ahead of U2 who are 20th with a fortune of €860,000,000.
Niall Horan is just inside the top 200 on €83,000,000, while former 007 Pierce Brosnan is 241st with €55,000,000 and soccer legend Robbie Keane is a new entry in 250th place, with €43,000,000.
The wealthiest entrants from Galway are the Comer brothers who have an estimated wealth of €1.35 billion. They are involved in property development and horse breeding.
Then from Leitrim we have Ray and Des O'Rourke, co-founders of engineering construction company Laing O'Rourke, worth an estimated €638,000,000, while the Kenny family, who are involved in property are the top representatives from Mayo, worth an estimated €497,000,000.
Looking to Meath, Martin Naughton is the wealthiest representative of the county, with an estimated worth of €1.66 billion. He's the founder of radiator business GlenDimplex, which employs thousands of people around the world.
Longford's wealthiest person is Seamus Ross, worth an estimated €250,000,000, and his money also comes from property development.#
