British actor Ed Westwick will not be charged after allegations of sexual assault in the US last year.
Fellow actresses Kristina Cohen and Aurélie Wynn came forward with allegations of rape and sexual assault while a third unnamed woman also came forward.
According to prosecutors in the LA, “Those witnesses were not able to provide information that would enable the prosecution to prove either incident beyond a reasonable doubt.”
“Prosecution on those two incidents is declined due to insufficient evidence.”
Westwick has always maintained his innocence. Posting on social media last year, he said: “I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape”.
In the wake of these allegations, BBC cut Westwick out of its Agatha Christie series "Ordeal by Innocence" and paused filming on BBC2 comedy "White Gold".
