Image via XMost people would be delighted for their local town to get a shout out on one of the biggest talk shows in the world - but that's not the case for people in Fermoy.
The town situated in Co. Cork got a mention on the 'Big Red Chair' segment, which happens at the end of the show.
This is an opportunity for audience members and people of the public to tell a funny story to Graham and his A-list guests.
If Graham likes the story and thinks it's funny, you stay seated on the 'Big Red Chair' and get to walk away with your head held high.
But if you don't get the host's seal of approval you get launched backwards.
Locals in Fermoy in County Cork are said to be horrified after their town was described as "horrible" on the 'Big Red Chair' segment.
An audience member on last Friday's edition of 'The Graham Norton Show' sat in his Big Red Chair and told the host she lived in Ireland for 20 years.
According to the Irish Examiner, when Norton asked her where she lived, she said Fermoy, which she described as a "horrible, horrible town".
Graham, who's a native of The Rebel County, continued to describe the town as having "a giant pencil in it", a reference to a large pencil in the town which is a signpost for the former Faber-Castell factory.
The guest, Zoe a Scottish native replied, “It’s got a bridge if people want to jump off it.”
It's understood the local Tidy Towns Committee is contacting the BBC to express its anger over the comments.
