Gavin James’ new album is already reaching astronomical heights.

Huston, we have an album.

Dublin singer Gavin James has pulled off a world first – he’s become the first pop star ever to launch an album into space.

In order to mark the release of his newest work Only Ticket Home which is out tomorrow, Gavin thought it only fitting that the album be shot 50km into near orbit over earth.

And we can’t think of a better way to launch an album.

Gavin himself was present at “a secret location” to see his new album attached to a weather balloon and embark upon four-hour journey beyond the clouds…

“We’re sending the album into outer space because it’s out of this world,” said the singer at the launch, which took place in a field somewhere.

We agree Gavin! And we can’t wait to hear it.
