Already this year 172 people have died on the roads, and this latest campaign operates from now until 7am on January 4th.

Assistant Garda Commissioner, Paula Hillman, is especially asking people to think before the get behind the wheel the morning after.

‘Last Christmas and New Year, we arrested over 720 people and out of that over a hundred were arrested the morning after from 6AM to 2PM.  So be mindful, at Christmas and New Year people have big nights out, what are you doing the next day?  Just be mindful of that and make sure that you’re not one of those people detected the morning after.’
