Non-essential retail can welcome customers back to stores for the first time in 2021.
Queues began forming outside stores from early this morning as customers were eager to get back to browsing in clothes stores and other non-essential outlets.
Last week customers needed an appointment with Penneys saying 275 thousand people made an advance booking with the store.
It resulted in huge queues to get an appointment online, with some people waiting hours just to get a slot.
As restrictions ease people are reminded to continue to practice social distancing and hand hygiene, while also being patient.
Meanwhile there's been calls all over the country for people to support local businesses.
