The vaccination centres are set to open over the August bank holiday weekend.
Walk-in vaccination centres are scheduled to open across the country over this coming weekend.
The decision comes as the Cabinet is due to get advice on whether vaccines can be used in children aged between 12 and 15.
The vaccine portal for 16 and 17 year olds has also opened this morning.
#COVIDVaccine registration is now open for people aged 16 and 17.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin says the walk-in centres are about speeding up the rollout in the face of the Delta wave:
"I think the HSE will be revealing further details about that. I think we're in a phase now where we want to really increase and maximise the participation rates and the uptake of the vaccine. We are very high worldwide now in terms of that."
