Omicron now accounts for 14% of new cases in Ireland
No new restrictions were recommended by the chief medical officer when he met government party leaders last night.
But Dr Tony Holohan did outline his serious concern about how rapidly the Omicron variant is taking hold here.
It now accounts for about 14% of new Covid cases.
Results today suggest that approximately 14% of our cases are due to the #Omicron variant.
In line with the experience of many other countries, we can expect this proportion to rise rapidly over the coming days.
