Cue the mass confusion..
The government's being urged to find a resolution after it emerged it's illegal for pubs and restaurants to serve alcohol in many outdoors seating areas.
In all fairness, you can’t sit inside the pub to have a pint , you can’t sit outside the pub to have a pint and you can’t sit in a park with your takeaway pint.

Gardai say drinking alcohol in temporary outdoor locations isn't allowed if they don't have a license.
The force says these businesses can only sell food or drinks on a takeaway basis or for consumption off the premises.
Restaurants Association Chief Executive Adrian Cummins is adamant the Government needs to intervene:
Gardaí to use 'discretion' over outdoor drinking areas
Surely the Ministers for Health or Justice can sign a statutory instrument to give legal provision for as the Government has described “A Summer of Outdoors”
If only the industry was consulted ! https://t.co/x5FhIBXP0C
