A government spokesperson has confirmed Confirmation, Communion and Baptism ceremonies are suspended.

When asked about the celebrations at yesterday's press conference, the Tanaiste said ‘They’re off unfortunately’, however at that stage there was no clear guidance on the events.

This caused a huge amount of concern across the country, with some priests insisting their planned ceremonies would go ahead.

However, this afternoon a government spokesperson says they are all postponed following NPHET advice over the Delta variant and the website will be updated soon.

Guests at weddings however can increase to 50 from July 5th.
