UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock made the announcement during the government's daily briefing
Clinical human trials of a coronavirus vaccine in the UK will begin on Thursday, UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said.
Sky News reports the vaccine has been developed by the University of Oxford and will be tested on patients with COVID-19.
Mr Hancock said developing a vaccine is an "uncertain science" but the two teams were making "rapid progress".
Professor Andrew Pollard says if the human trials of Oxford University's #COVID19 vaccine are "successful" there will then be a "big technical hurdle" to upscale the doses that would be needed around the world.
