Boris Johnson has said that those travelling from Ireland and France to the UK will not have to self isolate.
People who arrive into Ireland from Britain will still have to self-isolate upon arriving in the country.
The government says it has 'no plans' to change those regulations, despite the UK relaxing rules on people who arrive from Ireland and France.
At the moment, anyone who travels to the island of Ireland and crosses the border does NOT have to self-isolate.
Security Correspondent with the Irish News, Alison Morris, says the UK relaxing the rules has caused confusion in the North.
''All the experts have all said there has to be more monitoring of who is coming in and out of the country'', she said.
''So I do expect Stormont to make more announcements in relations to that later''.
