Up to 60 staff have tested positive in Rosderra Meats' factory in Edenderry, Co Offaly, in recent days.
A leading farming organisation's calling for all staff in meat factories to be tested for Covid-19 as soon as possible.
It's after a number of clusters of the virus in plants across the country.
Edmond Phelan, president of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association, believes health officials must take more action.
''I think its important that all workers in the meat plants are tested ASAP, if they haven't been tested already'', he said.
''We need a very quick turn around on results, I do believe that in some plants workers are being screened for temperature checks in every day, so hopefully that can be spread out to all plants''.
