''I don't see a dramatic change on the 5th of May''.
The Health Minister has warned there won't be a dramatic easing of Coronavirus restrictions on May 5th.
Simon Harris was speaking as concern is rising about more people breaking the lockdown rules.
Some of those concerns came after Dublin Bus said it's seen an increase in passenger numbers in the last week, with the Chief Medical Officer saying that traffic is up.
But the Health Minister Simon Harris has said people continuing to stick by the restrictions is the only way restrictions can ultimately be lifted.
''I don't see a dramatic change on the 5th of May'', he said.
''What I hope we can do in and around the 5th of May is publish that plan on 'how do you begin to reopen your country', 'what consideration do you give' and 'what are the public health tests that need to be met'.
''And I'm really hoping, although I can't guarantee it, that there will be some easing on the 5th, that'll make people's lives just a little bit easier''.
Taoiseach 'doesn't want to wave a big stick at people'.
Meanwhile the Taoiseach has warned Coronavirus restrictions will not be eased if people are flouting the current rules.
Leo Varadkar said he didn't want to wave a big stick at people, but that their behaviour is directly linked to what will happen over the coming weeks.
He said a mixture of public persuasion and Garda enforcement will be used to make sure people comply with the rules.
