It's the biggest death daily toll in Ireland since the pandemic began.
Thirty-six people have lost their lives to the coronavirus in Ireland today, the biggest daily increase in deaths in the Republic since the outbreak of Covid-19.
It brings to 210 the total amount of people who have died in the country thus far.
Of the deaths today, 27 occurred in the East, 6 in the North, 3 in the South.
17 are female, 19 are male and the median age of those additional deaths is 81, 24 had underlying conditions.
Meanwhile an additional 345 cases have been diagnosed, meaning there are now 5, 709 confirmed cases here.
The Department of Health said that 42,484 tests for coronavirus have been carried out up to midnight last night.
