22 more people have died from Covid-19 in Ireland, 424 new cases

120 people have now died from the virus in Ireland.

Twenty-Two more people have died due to the coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan has announced.

Meanwhile, there has also been 424 new cases confirmed, the total now stands at 4,273

Eleven of the 22 people who died were males and 11 were females, a total of 120 have now died due to the virus in Ireland.

Eighteen of the deaths were located in the east, 3 in the south, 1 in the west of the country.

Sixteen patients were reported as having underlying health conditions, the median age of today’s reported deaths is 80.

Northern Ireland today reported 12 COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total there to 48, which means the total number of deaths on the island of Ireland now stands at 168.

Worldwide more than 1 million people have been infected with Covid-19, and more than 50,000 have died.
