The Higher Education Minister, Simon Harris says anyone who has paid their full college fees will be refunded €1,000.

In Budget 2024 it was announced that there would be a reduction of €1,000 towards student contribution fees.

It brings the cost down to €2,000 for the second year in a row.

Minister Simon Harris says anyone who already paid their full college fees will be reimbursed next month:

"I'm going to put money back in the pockets of students and parents. That's why in the budget we've reduced college fees for 96 thousand students."

He continued, "This means all eligible full-time undergraduate students will see their fees reduced by at least €1,000. If you have paid the fees in full your college will have been in touch or will be in touch  by the end of this month to get your bank details so they can arrange for you to get a refund of €1,000."
