Ireland among the countries cutting back on their Christmas lights

Families across Europe are cutting back this Christmas due to the energy crisis.

As are major cities across the continent.

Verona in Italy has limited its display to just the Christmas markets.

And the French city of Strasbourg is hoping to cut its energy usage by 10% by using fewer lights on its tree.

This trend can also be seen in towns around Ireland.

Dublin and Cork are cutting down the amount of time the lights are turned on each day.

This news comes just as people found out that Christmas lights could add €20 to your electricity bill this year.
