The countdown is on for Bridgerton Season 2
Netflix has dropped the trailer for Season 2 of Bridgerton which became a global hit after it premiered just after Christmas 2020. The trailer gives viewers a glimpse of the much anticipated romance between Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and show newcomer Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley)
In the finale of Bridgerton Season 1 we learned that Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) was the anonymous gossip chronicler Lady Whistledown
“Dearest gentle reader,” narrates Julie Andrews, who voices Lady Whistledown, “Did you miss me?”
“As the members of our ton questioned my identity and means, this author has been doing but one thing…honing my skills. No, even better, I’ve been sharpening my knives. For all of you.
Sadly Season 2 will not feature the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page) who married the Briderton’s fourth child Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and had a baby at the end of Season 1. While announcing Page’s departure from the show, Netflix revealed, “Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer – more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.”
The Viscount Who Loved Me – Bridgerton Season 2
Season 2 is based on the second book in the Bridgerton book series which was written by Julia Quinn.
Bailey previously teased that the “brilliant” forthcoming season will introduce new faces and feature “loads” of Easter Eggs for all of the characters. “I feel like the campy, plush spectacle of the Bridgerton world is only going to get more pronounced in the best way possible. It’s mad, and it’s brilliant. There are also going to be a lot of brilliant characters introduced in this series – and it’s not just Anthony that we’re going to delve into,”
The second season will be available on 25 March
