Which one is your favourite?

There have been some fairly iconic Christmas ads on Irish telly over the past number of years.

Some have brought a tear to our eye, some made us laugh out loud and others just got us into the festive spirit.

We’ve compiled a list of the some of the best Christmas ads we’ve loved. Here’s

An Post 2005- The Snowman

When you hear that tune, you can’t help but sing along. Let’s take ya back to 2005 with this infamous one from An Post. Inspired by The Snowman and featuring a spine-tingling version of Walking In The Air, this one ticks all the boxes.

=Woodies 2019- We’re all homemakers

Mrs. Higgins is a clear favourite amongst her neighbours. She’s recognised by everyone on the street as they prepare for a busy Christmas and lands home one day to be surprised by a creak-less new gate hinge. This one is sure to give ya a few goosebumps.

Aldi 2017- Kevin The Carrot

Kevin the Carrot from Aldi has truly become an icon in his own right. He first appeared on our telly screens in 2016 and since then, has a full on range of merch including plush toys and pyjamas.

Supervalu 2020 – Little boy and his Grandad

This one came on our TVs after a year of lockdowns and uncertainty. After months of isolating and being apart from our nearest and dearest, this one emphasised the real meaning of Christmas.

Kellogs 1991- Little girl and Santa

Can you believe this advert is over 30 years old? It still remains iconic to this day though with that cute ‘shhh’ at the end.

“I don’t know, it seems very unorthodox.”

The Guinness Christmas ad

It’s one of the classics. The snowy falling, the music and of course the memorable line – “Don’t forget to turn the lights off”.

The Guinness Christmas ad really has stood the test of time.

Coca-Cola 1995 – Holidays are coming

It’s the big one. For years, the first time you saw the Coca-Cola ad on telly marked the start of the festive season. To this day, it still sparks goosebumps when ya manage to catch it on TV.
