Man (30s) dies following collision between car and a truck in Co. Roscommon

It happened last night.

A man has died after a crash in county Roscommon involving a car and a truck.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Ballinasloe to Shannonbridge road - around one kilometre from Shannonbridge just before 7pm yesterday evening.

A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to university Hospital Galway for a post mortem to take place.

Another man in his 40s was taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe for non-life threatening injuries.

The road remains closed while forensic examinations take place.
